After taking responsibility of the Recreation Department in January, the Baker Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture welcomes Kassidee Kilsdonk as the new Rec Director.
Kassidee decided to move to Baker in 2019 to be closer to her family, who has lived there for almost fifteen years. “When I first moved here, I had to start all over, but I wanted my kids to be in different activities and we still had the rec department,” she explained. “It was so sad to see something that was so positive for our community go away.”
Kassidee is excited to get the previous programs started again, as well as add in new ones. “We introduced martial arts. That’s been one of the new things that we’ve brought in and it’s been really popular,” she noted.
In addition, they’ll soon be offering track as well as ‘Playtime at the Museum’, a preschool program that they partnered with the O’Fallon Historical Museum to bring to the community. “The rec department is more than just sports,” added Kassidee.
“Baker is a lovely and amazing community and what makes it so great is its people,” she beamed. “We invest in our people. If we can continue to do that with people volunteering for our rec department and for our programs, it’s just going to make this even better.”
The Recreation Department now has their own Facebook page, so people can stay up to date on their activities and programs.
