Volunteers and elementary students enjoying their ice cream.

This week, classes kindergarten through sixth grade held an ice cream party for the elementary school’s volunteers. These volunteers included Danny and Lana Buerkle, Jim and Kathy Leischner and Mary Mangold. They all help by coming in and listening to the kindergarteners read. Mr. and Mrs. Eisele were also included. Mr. Eisele for when he came and talked to the fifth graders and Mrs. Eisele for subbing and helping around the school wherever she can. Mrs. May and Mr. Buerkle were also served ice cream for their immense help in subbing throughout the school year. The elementary students and the volunteers were treated to not only ice cream but also a number of different toppings for their choosing and a bookmark with different quotes. An example of these quotes is “The heart of a volunteer is not measured in size, but by the depth of the commitment to make a difference in the lives of others.” -De Ann Hollis. Thank you so much volunteers for all the help our school has received, and thank you Mrs. Benner for putting this lovely event on.
